Associated Students
The Associated Students (AS) of the University of California, Santa Barbara is a non- profit organization and a department of the UCSB campus, funded by undergraduate student fees. Through elected student positions and appointments we voice student concerns and express student opinion to the UCSB administration, UC system, our community, and state and local governments. We have dozens of boards, committees, and commissions that are organized and funded through AS to enrich student life and give students services and opportunities not offered by the administration. Our mission is to help students uphold the high academic standards and give them leadership, employment, cultural and growth opportunities to serve the campus community.
Community Affairs Board
The AS/UCSB Community Affairs Board (CAB), UCSB’s Volunteer Action Center, is dedicated to enhancing the educational experience of all UCSB Students by providing information and easy access to community service work. Through a wide range of projects and community programs, CAB seeks to augment classroom experiences, create opportunities for career exploration, connect UCSB to the community in a meaningful way, and promote the ethics of public service.
Graduate Student Association
The Graduate Student Association (GSA) is the elected representative government for the UC Santa Barbara graduate students. We articulate graduate student concerns to the campus administration and campus-wide committees dealing with topics ranging from parking and student family concerns to long-range academic planning. Many graduate students, across many disciplines, are involved in helping achieve these goals and discussing future ventures for the GSA at UC Santa Barbara.
Multicultural Center Council
The MultiCultural Center Council (MCC) is a coalition of 50+ diverse student organizations whose mission is to create and uphold a safe and inclusive campus community, deeply rooted in anti- racist and anti-oppression work at UCSB. The MCC Council hosts regular meetings and town halls in order to address the pervasive issues in our respective communities and take action that centers inclusive solutions. The MCC Council also supports its member organizations that engage in student-based political action with a social justice focus.
Student Engagement & Leadership
Student Engagement & Leadership (SEAL) promotes undergraduate and graduate student engagement and development through co-curricular programs, including campus organizations, fraternities, sororities, leadership development, and civic engagement.
