As the UCSB student union, the University Center offers excellent and accessible services to the campus community.

Located within the UCen are the UCSB Campus Store and a U.S. Post Office. We have various dining options, a printshop, and a convenience store. A.S. Food Bank along with the Food Security & Basic Needs Advising Center assists the Gaucho community with food and financial resources. We have a full service conference center featuring Corwin Pavilion and seven conference rooms, and our popular concert venue, The Hub, providing entertainment throughout each quarter. The UCen houses Associated Students, Graduate Student Association, MultiCultural Center & Theater and the University & Community Housing Office.

Basic Needs

UCSB Food Security and Basic Needs Advising Center is staffed by Basic Needs Peer Advisors who can assist individuals in all aspects of basic needs including, but not limited to, food, housing, technology, finances, and more. Though we focus primarily on serving students, our doors are open to anyone needing advice on meeting their basic needs. We can help you identify resources and services and help you apply for support. All our basic needs peer advisors are also trained as CalFresh Advocates. CalFresh is a federally funded food nutrition assistance program. Our advocates can help you determine if you are eligible, help you to apply, answer questions about CalFresh, and even advocate for you in the case that you experience any challenges during the application process or with maintaining and using your benefits. More information and hours can be found on our website: basicneeds.ucsb.edu/resources/food/calfresh
